The Tirunelveli Corporation planned to build a Home for the Street Dwellers and the place was selected in Kurukuthurai Water Campus. By the effort of Mayor Mrs. Vijila Sathyananth and Deputy Mayor P. Jeganathan, the project came into a shape. The projected was accepted by Saranalayam and the proposed place was visited by Fr. Motcharajan and Fr. Antony A.Cruz. At first the home was planned to build to in Sinthupoonthurai, Corporation school and due to the local people agitation the plan was cancelled the place was changed to Kurukuthurai. It is a fertile and 24 hours water supply area. It will be a night staying home for the street dwellers. They will be provided all the toilet items, Bed sheet, towel, food, etc
